How to document and report animal abuse
Document What You See
Record the date, time, exact location and type of animal, plus as many details as possible about the situation. Video and photographic documentation (even a cell phone photo) will help bolster your case.
Report It
Contact your local animal control or sheriff's office with your documentation. Take detailed notes about whom you speak with and when, and follow up within a few days if the situation persists.
In Fayette County, reports go to the Animal Control Officer through the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 304-574-3590.
