Financial & Governance Transparency

New River Animal Rescue is committed to maintaining the trust of our donors, volunteers, community partners and the families we serve.

Our Board

Our board members serve as volunteers and are not compensated for their service on the board. Meet the board.

Financial Recordkeeping

We maintain detailed financial records for our organization using QuickBooks. Our accountant provides professional guidance regarding proper financial categorization and required filings and assists with the preparation of our annual Form 990.

We take the stewardship of donated funds seriously and work to ensure that funds entrusted to our organization are used responsibly to support our mission and the animals in our care.

Independent Nonprofit Operations

New River Animal Rescue previously operated the county animal shelter under contract. During that time, the organization underwent a substantial audit, and our records and operations were found to be in good standing and legitimate.

Today, New River Animal Rescue operates independently and is no longer under contract with the county.

As an independent rescue, we are responsible for raising the funds necessary to operate our organization, provide veterinary care, purchase supplies, maintain our facility and care for the animals entrusted to us.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We understand that businesses and community organizations want to know that the nonprofits they support are responsible stewards of donated funds.

We welcome reasonable questions about our organization and are happy to provide appropriate documentation regarding our nonprofit status, governance and financial practices.

We are grateful to the businesses, donors, volunteers and community members who have supported New River Animal Rescue throughout the years. Your trust allows us to continue helping animals in need.

Our mission is simple: to save lives, provide compassionate care, and find loving homes for animals in our community.
